Andrew Nicholas Taylor

He's here! Andrew Nicholas Taylor was born on 11/29/2010 at 9:48 pm. He was 8 lbs 5 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. He has fine blonde hair and big blue eyes. It has been an amazing week welcoming our new little boy to our home. He has been such a delight and has made Nick and I so happy. Andrew is such a good baby and hardly cries. His favorite time to be awake seems to be about 5:00 am, but otherwise, he is a great sleeper. I can't get enough of this little guy. I never knew how much I could love and adore a person. Nick and I are so grateful to have him in our family.

Countdown

So, I'm starting to get a little nervous because I have been having a lot of Braxton-Hick's contractions. Today is the first time that I noticed how frequenty they were. I had one about 8:20 and then 10:00, 12:00, 2:00, 4:00, 5:30, 7:00. My stomach gets really tight and sometimes they are painful. I am just assuming that they are "false contractions", but I'm wondering if I'm right in my thinking. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow, so I guess we will find out if I am progressing at all. It's hard to believe that I only have 3 1/2 weeks until my due date. I am nervous, but the sleepless nights are starting to get a little exhausting!

Nursery Photos!

On Friday, my mom stopped by my house with a suprise...the baby bedding that I was wanting for the nursey and also a lap that matched! It was so sweet of her and it made it the best day. Nick and I painted the room with the colors of light blue and baby boy blue and then wanted to incorporate the green and brown into the room also. The bedding has all the colors that I wanted and I just LOVE it! Nick and I are going to put some pictures up of some old cars to finish it off and I need to get a chair. Any ideas on some good ones? My mom and I spent the afternoon setting up the room and Nick put the curtains up yesterday. I think that it will be perfect for our little guy.

Baby Shower/Belly Update

On Thursday, Oct 7th, I had my first baby shower. My friend MA had the party for me and we invited most of the Relief Society girls! We had a great time and MA put a lot of planning into it (I will have more pictures I can post when she sends them to me). The cake was made by my friend Bridgett and the decorations and party favors were made by my friend Megan. My friends Jessica and Val also helped with the planning process. We all had such a fun time and laughed a lot. I got some very cute clothes, books, shoes, socks, blankets and bath toys!! (Opening presents)
(The table decorations...and food). MA made home-made couz-couz (sp?) and we had fruit and punch.

(The BEAUTIFUL cake!!)

.....*32 Week Photo....

I went in for my check up this past Friday and my doctor said "I have a basketball belly". I have been hearing that comment a few times, but this little guy is all in front of me. He has been kicking so much and seems like he hardly sleeps. I can tell that he likes to sleep with his back facing outward because my belly almost always feels hard. The "end of pregnancy" symptoms are starting to kick in such as low back pain, tiredness, the "heavy belly" feeling, and inability to stand for longer than 20 minutes at a time.
It's hard to believe that we only have about 6 weeks left till our baby boy gets here.

Off to Peru!

This past Wednesday, September 1st, was Justin's report day to go to the MTC. He was so excited that the day finally had come. He received his call in April, so waiting for September to come felt like forever to him...however, I felt like the time flew by! I definitely had mixed feelings about the day. Well, honestly, I hate MTC day. It is really hard for me to say good-bye, but I tried to hold back the tears!!
I really like this first picture of Jay though because I think it sums him up all at once. I love his smile and laugh. Nick and I gave Justin a cd player with some speakers for his mission. He was pretty excited because he didn't have one to take.

Walking off to the mission...Bye Justin. I know you are going to be such a great missionary in Peru. WE LOVE YOU!

Pregnancy...Growing by the day

So I know everyone has been wanting to see some pictures of the growing belly, so here you go. I acutally haven't been very good at taking them regularly, but here are two that I have taken to send to my sister Megan on her mission. I am actually much bigger now since this week I am 27 weeks! I will take another picture soon and post it.

Boy or Girl??

Nick's family came up to visit us the first week of July and they were able to spend a whole we with us. We had such a great time together! I really wanted them to be in town for my upcoming "gender" ultrasound, but I was only 19 weeks and my doctor said I needed to wait till 20 weeks. I decided to call the doctor office anyway to see if they would let me go the end of my 19th week. I was scheduled to have my ultrasound scheduled for July 16th, but instead we were able to get it done on July 9th. I think most everyone guessed that we would be having a girl and so I was getting ready for a girl in my mind. We got into the ultrasound room and the doctor started showing us the head and the legs and for a brief moment, I thought I had discovered the gender on my own (if you know what I mean), but I decided to just be patient and wait for the doctor to make it absolute. We could see the baby kick it's legs and we even saw a yawn!! It was really such an exciting and happy moment for me. I think the last time I felt so happy was on Nick and my wedding day. I loved every minute of the ultrasound. Then the doctor said "do you want to know the gender?" and we both smiled and said "YES". The doctor went straight to it...the baby made it pretty easy...but my first view was right...it is a BOY! We are very excited to welcome little baby boy Taylor to our home. Nick and I with the ultrasound.

Opening "The Call"

I know it's hard to hear, but it's fun to watch. I posted the details below.

Going on a Mission!!!

My brother Justin received his mission call to Lima, Peru North Mission April 13th (I know I'm late in posting)!! We are all so excited for him and Justin is especially excited. He will be in the Peruvian Highlands - so treking the mountains. It will be interesting to hear about his experiences there. He will leave for the MTC in Provo on September 1st and then three weeks later leave to go to the MTC in Peru. I'm going to miss Jay so much, but I'm very happy for him. He has been waiting for this call to come for a long time! Justin will leave before my sister Megan gets home from her mission in November. It will be crazy having two missionaries at one time, but I'm so proud of both of them and their desires to serve missions. Justin will be such a great missionary. He is a very hard worker and has a desire to help others and make them happy.

This is my favorite picture of Jay after opening his call. His face tells it all! :)

Wedding Day

A few weeks ago, my friend Kristy was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Ryan White. It was such a beautiful day with sunny skies - a little chilly, but nice. Nick and I were invited to the sealing and it was so special. That was the second time that Nick and I had been to a sealing at the Salt Lake Temple since we had been married (the first time was at our friend's Ryan & Chelsea's wedding one year exactly from the day Nick & I were married). It brought back wonderful memories of our wedding day and the promises that we made to each other. After the sealing, we waited outside for the newlyweds. There was a little drama for Kristy because her zipper wouldn't zip up on her wedding dress! We were all worried for her while we waited...but she did come out without any problems. She looked so gorgeous. We took pictures outside and visited with Kristy's family. Nick and I went with Brittney that night to Kristy's reception. We met up with Whitney and Oakleigh too. It was a wonderful day and it was great to be at the temple and with Nick.

Party Time!

Last night was my friend Kristy's bridal shower/bachelorette party! Whitney and I met up to buy Kristy a present and then headed down to South Jordan for the bridal shower. I got to see little Miss Oakleigh too which was so fun. Brittney met up with us a while later. We opened presents and then went to dinner at Zupa's! Delicious! We had a great time talking and laughing about old times and all the wedding news that's going on with Kristy. Afterwards, we went back and hung out some more. We spent time playing more games and talking. It was such a fun night and it ended with going to see Kristy's new apartment.
(Whitney, Brittney, Oakleigh, Allison, Kristy)
Brittney, Kristy, Whitney, and I met when we all started working at Legacy House in Bountiful as CNA's. We all had so much fun working together and have been friends ever since. It has been about 6 years now since working at Bountiful House. Time goes by so fast, but I'm so glad that we have been able to maintain our friendships and still have a great time together.

Cute Oakleigh - she loves to stick out her tongue and hold her arms up...pretty much all the time. She is so stinkin' cute!

Breakfast with the girls...

This morning, Jessica, Val, and I went to Mimi's Cafe for breakfast. I had banana chocolate chip pancakes and the girls said the the muffins are "the best", so I got two to go - one for me and one for Nick. It was really fun to get together with the girls from the neighborhood. I have had a really great time living in Farmington Crossing. Many of the people that live here are couples that are Nick and my ages so we have been able to make a lot of friends. Nick and I know that we are very blessed to live here and we have been having so much fun with all our new friends. Hopefully, we will have many more breakfasts' together :)

Mmmm....Chinese

What could be better than having lunch with your family at your favorite Chinese restaurant? My family really loves China Star in Bountiful. I actually brings back memories because when Nick and I were dating, my family went to China Star and while we were eating lunch, I saw Nick's room-mate Kurt around the corner. I waved at him and wondered if he was with Nick...he was! They had just been at the Bountiful Temple and stopped there for lunch with Brandon. That was the first time that Nick met my family.

A Place to Sit!

Last Saturday, Nick and I bought a new kitchen table! It has been so nice to have a place for everyone to sit for a meal. Last night, I made dinner (yes...me) for the missionaries and for our friends, Jessica and Jordan Hendrickson. We had a great time around the new table for dinner! If anyone would like to come over for dinner sometime...you are invited! :)

My cute cousins...

I always love going to my Aunt Jen and Uncle Kyle's house because I adore their kids. They are so cute and Kameron says the funniest and sweetest things. Kameron asked me yesterday:
"Um, how are you feeling Alli about your baby?" and I said, "I'm doing ok". Then he said, "Alli, we prayed for your baby every day and that you wouldn't be sad anymore". I told him that his prayers made me feel better and he looked at me with a look of shock and a smile and said "They did?" I said, "yep!". Kameron is so thoughful and sweet.

Jaydee wanted to "play princesses", so we went down to her dress-ups and I found a skirt with an elastic band and somehow managed to fit it over my hips, and then Jaydee put on her princess dress. Then Kameron had to dress up in his "Rock Man" outfit. I had a fun couple hours playing with them and having lunch with the family.
